The Pie Man’s Pantry
THE PIE MAN’S PANTRY RANGE CREATION:
IMPECCABLY GOOD TASTE
Aiming to bring the handmade deliciousness and quality of his food to a wider market, The Pie Man commissioned us to create his new range, The Pie Man’s Pantry.
Our first challenge was to create a brand architecture that said traditional, delicious and quality under the ‘pantry’ name.
We experimented with traditional icons of pantry living – including stored foods, jars, rustic shelving and pie tins – and created two concept routes for the client. The chosen route teams a pie tin inspired logo, contemporary (but with a nod to traditional signwriting) type and etchy illustrations. Further brand elements include a typewriter typeface and decorative copper highlights.
The Pie Man’s Pantry is all about handmade, delicious food with a hint of west-end class.
To really accentuate these brand principles on pack, we created packaging with a premium, bespoke feel, highlighting a printed-by-hand aesthetic and making sure no panel was the same. A brown board background teamed with old-style numbering and ticketed detailing says ‘traditional’, while pops of copper gives it that contemporary, stylish edge.
This is Chelsea light-dining at it’s best. Tuck in, chaps.
The Pie Man’s Pantry range has just launched and it’s early days for this new brand. However, In the Pie Man’s Chelsea Green shop alone sales are already on the up.
“WE’VE BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THREE MONKEY SINCE WE SAW THE CONCEPT ROUTES. THEY HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. WE NOW HAVE A BRAND LOOK AND VOICE TO BE PROUD OF.”
